Sunny L. Munn, PhD

Dr. Sunny L. Munn is the Director of Evaluation and Innovation at the Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy, where she leads internal and external evaluation activities, identifies new funding opportunities, and pursues innovative partnerships and collaborations. She uses inclusive, culturally responsive, participatory, and empowerment evaluation practices in this role while creating opportunities to collaborate across non-profit, education, and government spaces. Sunny has over ten years of experience evaluating state-wide social service, workforce development, and educational programming that promotes self-sufficiency and access for Ohio’s most vulnerable populations (i.e., TANF, CCMEP, GEAR UP). This experience was gained as a post-doctoral researcher and Welfare and Workforce Research Manager for the Ohio Education Research Center in the John Glenn College of Public Affairs and as an independent consultant. She has taught at The Ohio State University, Ashland University, and Florida International University, teaching courses in workforce development, leadership studies, policy, and evaluation. Her research interests focus on anti-bias and equity in education, work-life systems, diverse family structures, and the scholarly writing process. She earned her PhD and MA in Workforce Development and Education, a Masters of Public Affairs, BS in Psychology, and BA in African and African American Studies from The Ohio State University.
