National Student Parent Month

September is National Student Parent Month which recognizes the more than one quarter of college students who are working toward their degrees while also parenting children. This growing population of higher education students face many barriers including affordable and accessible child care.

Ohio State’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Education to create a Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program at Ohio State. The Crane Center partners with CCAMPIS to conduct research on the experiences and challenges of parenting students and their needs in navigating universities. Visit our CCAMPIS page to learn more about the program and enrollment, to access our full body of work on this topic, and to watch an NBC4 feature on CCAMPIS alum and father of two Robert Landers as he eyed the NFL draft.
