Your child can help us research screen time and language skills!
How does your young child’s screen time affect their future language skills?
That’s what researchers at Ohio State are investigating — and you and your child can help!
The PLUM project (Preschoolers’ Language and Use of Media) is currently enrolling 3-year-olds in a study that will examine their media use and language skills. We’ll be looking at all sorts of media use, from television and videos, to apps and games. We’re also interested in the media that your child watches with you, as well as the media your child watches on their own.
The study will involve visits with you and your child from a member of the PLUM team on four occasions during a 24-month period. The visits can be scheduled at your convenience, either at your home, our center in the Weinland Park neighborhood of Columbus, or another location like a library.
To thank you for enrolling your child in this study, you will receive up to $80 in Tango gift cards that can be used at hundreds of retailers, as well as free children’s books you can read with your child.
But first, you’ll need to fill out a survey so that we can make sure your child is eligible for the study. The survey takes only 2 minutes of your time.
Thank you for considering enrolling your child in our study.
The next step is to click the link below to take the survey. The survey will open in a new window.
