Speech-language pathologists, SLP grad students sought for Crane research study

A speech pathologist points to her mouth while holding a painted wooden letter S. A child is looking at the mouth of the speech pathologist as the letter S is pronounced.

The Speech-Therapy Experiences in Public Schools-2 (STEPS-2) project is recruiting graduate students in Speech-Language Pathology and practicing Speech-Language Pathologists to participate in a research study.

The goal of this study is to understand and improve SLP talk during speech-language therapy sessions.

Study participation includes about two hours of activities:

  • Complete a basic demographic and professional background questionnaire (about 10 minutes).
  • Complete two simulated therapy sessions following orientation or training, plus debriefing activities (about 110 minutes total, to be conducted at Ohio State’s Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy).

Study benefits include:

  • Incentive: A gift card worth $60 in value upon completion of the study.
  • Help us learn more about speech-language therapy.
