Shayne Piasta, PhD

Dr. Piasta studies preschool and elementary literacy development. She has served on committees for the Ohio Department of Education, Lexia Learning, Providing Opportunities for Women in Educational Research, the National Center for Intensive Intervention, South Side Early Learning, and the Early Learning and Literacy Initiative, among others. She was awarded the 2017 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) by President Obama and has also received awards from the Institute of Education Sciences and International Reading Association (now International Literacy Association).
