Alida Hudson, PhD

Dr. Alida Hudson is a postdoctoral researcher on the BrightStart! Research Project. She recently completed a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Literacy Education in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture and an Advanced Research Methods (ARM) certificate from the Department of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Her primary research interests focus on early reading development as well as the impact of teachers’ linguistic knowledge on students’ reading outcomes. Alida is a former reading specialist and elementary classroom teacher with over 11 years of public education experience. She was also the president of the Texas Association for Literacy Education (TALE), the Texas affiliate of the International Literacy Association.
