CRANE RESEARCH FORUM RECAP: Developmental brain imaging of human cognition

November 2022

Dr. Zeynep Saygin, assistant professor in OSU’s department of psychology and principal investigator at Z-Lab, uses MRIs to look at the development of very young children’s brains. She looks specifically at how language, executive functioning, and reading emerge in the brain and whether a child’s future outcomes can be predicted based on this imaging. Dr. Saygin was recently featured on WOSU’s All Sides with Ann Fisher to talk about this work. Listen here.

She also presented on this work at our November Crane Research Forum including clinical and educational applications and ways that this research can inform preventative and intervention research.
