Dr. Casey Boyd-Swan is an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Kent State University. Dr. Boyd-Swan’s research primarily focuses on the intersection of early childhood education and employment decisions. She has previously published work examining the effects of parental nonstandard-hour employment and child care decisions on children’s cognitive development and mental well-being; most recently, her work has focused on understanding child care provider hiring preferences – and how these preferences are influenced by state-level policy and participation in quality credentialing programs.
