Crane Research Workshop

What does anti-racist research in education look like?

A discussion on equity-based research designs

Thursday, February 18 • 1-2pm • Zoom

Researchers have long been taught the very specific “how to” of research design, yet traditional methods too often fail to center on anti-racist research. At the core of anti-racist research design should be an acknowledgement of the impacts of current policies and practices and the ways in which they uphold systemic racism. Led by Dr. Narui, a critical race educator, and Dr. Walker, co-leader of CETE’s racial equity, diversity and inclusion initiative, the purpose of this session is to provide an introduction to critical race theory and anti-racist research design in education. Participants will begin to conceptualize how to design studies that are centered in an anti-racist research framework.

Our Crane Research Workshops are free of charge and open to all, but registration is required.
