This week's update includes Children’s Defense Fund of Ohio highlights the role that WIC plays to promote racial equity, reduce infant mortality, and increase preventative health care, Crane’s latest Riveting Research blog which looks at a meta-analysis to better understand the effects of screen time on young kids, and an article in Education Week highlighting a new study which found that more than 1 in 3 children in kindergarten through grade 3 (who started school during the pandemic) need “major and systemic interventions” in order to read on grade level by the end of the school year.
