ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Nonspeaking Readers was a study on the effects of two commercially available reading curricula designed for students with severe disabilities who are nonspeaking — Early Literacy Skills Builder (ELSB) and Accessible Literacy Learning (ALL). This rigorous clinical trial was designed to help the field understand the degree to which one or both of these approaches improves early literacy outcomes including phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge, and word reading. The research team partnered with schools in Central Ohio.
– Funding –
Nonspeaking Readers is funded by OSU’s Big Idea grant.
– Timeline –
