ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Nonspeaking Readers is a study on the effects of two commercially available reading curricula designed for students with severe disabilities who are nonspeaking–Early Literacy Skills Builder (ELSB) and Accessible Literacy Learning (ALL). This rigorous clinical trial will help the field understand the degree to which one or both of these approaches improves early literacy outcomes including phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge, and word reading. The research team will be partnering with schools in Central Ohio.
– Funding –
Nonspeaking Readers is funded by OSU’s Big Idea grant.
– Timeline –
Nonspeaking Readers received an award from July 2023 to June 2024.
